Living the life I want.

Doing work that matters.

Hello. Welcome. This is me.

I’ve been a teacher, leader & practitioner in the violence against women arena for close to three decades. I'm passionate about ending violence against all women. It's that simple and that difficult. I'm passionate about hearing and amplifying women's voices - all women's voices, not just those who look and sound like me. I’m learning all the time how to do this. I don’t always get it right. Sometimes the lens of my own privilege means I can’t see where I’ve made mistakes. But I’m doing the work. And I won’t stop.

I’m a passionate gender justice advocate. I’m a proud feminist. I’m a survivor.

All this makes for a potent fusion of story and practice wisdom. It’s taken me many years to realise that I'm all of the women I have ever supported. I'm not other to the many women who experience domestic violence in their lifetime. I'm not other to the many women who have experienced sexual assault, harassment or unwanted sexual attention. I have lived experience. It’s why I do what I do. It's what I teach, speak and write about. Not just about violence against women, but all about women's lives, in ways that bring women's voices and experiences into the light.

I am deliberate and afraid of nothing.
— Audre Lorde, A Land Where Other People Live (1973)
If you dare to tell the complex truth, other people will come up and say, ‘you too?’
— Robin Morgan
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak.
— Audre Lorde
